California: At Home-in the Desert

Traveling around California, you are struck by the vast beauty in this state.  I am lucky enough to be taking a coupleof days to spend time with my family and friends. We headed East to La Quinta. The colors are so much different here than at the beach. Intense, vibrant flowers are the first to greet you. There are these beautiful trees, with small yellow flowers. Everywhere! I don't know what they are, so if you do please let me know.

I am struck by the intensity of colors and textures. The houses are pale inside but wait till you get inside. Color!

The Spainish influence is amazing. I  love the tiles, the doors, the flowers. I think it would be so amazing to do a powder room in this spectacular style ,where ever you are, to bring a bit of California style into your home.
